This operation takes the user to the exact English Character corresponding to the Malayalam character located by the user. This operation will work only in Full Mapping mode.

Full Mapping or rough drafting

When user is in the Full mapping mode, based on what the user type in the Typing Session the Malayalam characters will start appearing in the document area. The user can update any part in the typing session and based on the new character entered in the Typing Session the corresponding malayalam words will appear at the document area.

With full mapping user will have the full flexibility of typing. But full mapping flexibility will be available in the DVEditor when the user starts a new document. If the user manually change any contents at the document area ( Like directly delete any malayalam character or a line from the top session) the Full mapping option will set to "Off". Also When the user open an existing document, the system sets it to a different Mapping status.

In Full mapping option user is not allowed to edit the Malayalam document directly at Malayalam Document Area. Instead he can use the Locate Button to locate any English Map for any Malayalam character and modify the Malayalam character by changing the English Map. DVEditor generates Malayalam characters simultanously based on the English characters typed by the user at the typing session. The basic Malayalam character forming is based on the following Character map table.

DV Character Map

DVEditor implements a new mapping sequence for the easy generation of Malayalam document.

"SÆRAdRj•"

For the entire vowel sound there will be a corresponding English map based on the conventional English usage. For example for "a" the English map will be "a". i.e. "aVieT" in malayalam will be written as ‘avite’ in English. In the similar way the Malayalam character "E" will be generated by the English character "i". for e.g. "EVieT" in Malayalam will be written as ‘ivite’ in English. Like that the malayalam character "C" is generated by the character "e". "CVieT" in Malayalam will be written as ‘evite’ in English. Refer the "DV Character Map" for the full Mapping.

VÊ«NAdRj•

There will be a unique English map for all the non-vowel sounds in Malayalam. In the newly introduced mapping system, user needs to follow a simple rule.

A combination of small and capital letters are used for generating these characters.

Malayalam alphabet "K" will have an English map of ‘ka

The next alphabet "X" will have an English map of ‘Ka

The next alphabet "G" will have an English map of ‘ga

The next alphabet "]" will have an English map of ‘Ga

The next alphabet "Z" will have an English map of ‘nga

That same pattern will continue for all the non-vowel sounds.

In general all the "XRAdRj• (K,~,T,€,P) " will start with a small letter(use

‘k’ for ‘K’ ,

‘c’ for ‘~’,

‘t’ for ‘T’,

‘th’ for ‘’.

‘p’ for ‘P’.)

All "a€iXRAdRj•(X,b,\,¯,F)" will start will with a Capital leter of the corresponding "XRAdRm".

All "M€u adRj• (G,J,D,¸,B) "will start with a small letter and all the "o]A‡AdRj• (],_,^,,‚)"will start with the corresponding capital letter of the M€u and all the "aNuNASiKAdRj• (Z,k,`,N,M)" will be a combination of English letter.

Refer the article Full Help and Quick Map for more details.

But since its a general practice of creating a "Athi Kharam"="Kharam" + ‘h’

Ie for "X" we usually type as kha. For example khanam = "XNm"

DVEditor supports that combination (English map) also for creating Malayalam character.

If two Malayalam alphabets have got same English sounds, use the capital alphabet of the English map to generate the second Malayalam alphabet.

For example "R" and "ƒ" are used as "ra" in English.

So DVEditor consider "ra" for "R" and "Ra" for "ƒ". Similarly for "" and "‡" the English usage (sha) is the same. There also the same kind of rules applies. The second character in this case determine the malayalam character. Ie if the user type sha DVEditor reads this as "sha" and if the user type "sHa" the DVEditor recognize it as "sHa". The reason for using the second letter as capital in this case is to help the typing speed of the user. I.e. once the user typed sh and found that it displayed "sha" but he want "sH", he don’t have to delete both the character, but just one character and type the capital "H". It helps when the user deals with huge and speedy work.

KÇsdRj• (Combined sounds)

To generate "KÇsdRj•" used the English maps for each individual sounds to create it.

For example "ntha" is the combination of "na" and "tha". You can create "ntha" by typing ntha.

"bDa" is the combination of "ba" "Da", so user can create it using "bDa".

There will be a one to one mapping for every Malayalam sounds to the corresponding English character combination. But when two different Malayalam characters has got same English usage, DVEditor recognizes with a capital letter for the second letter.

For Example

The Malayalam word for Sunday is njayar and malayalam word for yellow is "manja"

In English for both "nja" and "nja" the same character combination of "nja" is using. In these situations DVEditor uses a simple standardized technique to distinguish both characters. Use the capital letter in the second character in the same sound string. (The capital should use for the second Malayalam character in the alphabetical order.)

I.e. in the malayalam alphabetical nja will come before nja. For for nja user should type nja and for nJa user should type nJa.

So for njayar user has to type njaayar

And for manja user has to type manJa.

~i–dRj•

Chillaksharangal can be created by typing the English map followed by a space. If some one want to type the malayalam word avan, the user has to type avan + Space Bar hit. The Space bar hit tell the DVEditor that the last word doesn’t have a vowel at its end and the user expect a Chillaksharam at the end. If there is any similar sound among chillaksharam, use the capital letter for the second one.

For eg: "n" is represented by "n" and "N" is represented by "N".

I.e. when you start typing avan at the document area the malayalam characters "aVN" will display. After "avan" when you press Space Key or Enter key aVN automatically convert in to aVn. Because DVEditor knows that the user typed only "avan"

aVn = avan + Space bar

The same rule will apply to get the character "m" also. For example to get the Malayalam word "XNm" type khanam + Spacebar

XNm = khanam + Space bar

KuNiÉ.

To generate KuNiÉ, user has to use an "_" (underscore) with the character. For example if the user want the malayalam word "aVNÉ" user has to type "avan_" this way DVEditor won’t confuse on "n" or ""

Also User is not allows to do the operations such as "Cut", "Past", "Paste Special", "Insert New Object" etc in Full Map Mode. But user can perform copy operation in full map mode. Full Map Mode is for the user to make a rough draft.
